Mirroring Hands: A Client-Responsive, natural problem-solving therapy that produces natural mind-to-body healing

The practice of Mirroring Hands emerged in the 1980’s from the work of Ernest Rossi with Milton Erickson, continued now with Richard Hill. As much as possible, this workshop will share in practical demonstrations as we learn what is behind being a client-responsive therapist. We will explore several fundamental principles that underpin the process both theoretically and experientially. We will learn how it possible to stand back in the process and allow the client to find their best therapeutic connection with their own natural problem-solving and mind to body healing. Rossi and Hill believe this is how non-directive therapy is best practised. Although sometimes described as “content-free”, it is just the opposite because the client is always full of content. The task of the therapist is to be knowledgeable, observant and sensitive so they can respond positively, empathetically and effectively with the client. We will work together and practice aspects of the technique together and in breakout groups.
